If you can establish that school officials were aware of a dangerous person and didn't take appropriate, reasonable, foreseeable steps to avoid that person causing injury to students, faculty, or staff, you can bring a claim against the school district for negligence. The caps are $350,000 for the loss of a person or for serious injuries and $900,000 for the entire event.
